Why a fireplace stops staying lit
A standing pilot only works when every link in the chain holds.
Many gas fireplaces use a small pilot flame to prove it's safe to open the main gas valve. If any link in the chain weakens, the burner won't come on or the fireplace keeps shutting off. Dust, a worn sensor or a loose connection is often enough.

When should I book a pool heater start-up?
Before the first warm weekend you plan to swim. Spring is the busiest time for pool heaters, so booking early gives you the most choice of dates.
Why does my fireplace light, then go out?
That usually points to the pilot and safety-sensing side: a dirty pilot, a weak thermocouple or thermopile, or a connection problem. It's tested on site before any part is replaced.
