Problems we diagnose
- Pilot won't light or won't stay lit. Thermocouple, thermopile, pilot orifice and pilot flame condition.
- Main burner won't come on. Wall switch, remote and receiver, wiring and gas valve testing.
- Lights, then shuts off. Flame sensing, low millivolt output, venting and safety switch checks.
- Electronic ignition faults. Igniter, modules, batteries and power supply on intermittent-pilot models.
- Sooty glass or a lazy, yellow flame. These need attention right away, because they point to a combustion, log placement or venting problem.
- Fan or blower noise. Blower cleaning and testing where a fan kit is installed.
Cleaning and maintenance
A maintenance visit includes cleaning the glass, the burner and the pilot assembly, checking log and media placement, inspecting gaskets and the vent termination where accessible, and testing the pilot and safety controls. We finish by running the fireplace and checking flame appearance and operation.
Having it done in late summer or early fall means the fireplace is ready before you actually need it.
